Passports

We inform you that for the year 2026, all available appointment slots for passport issuance have now been filled.

We are aware of the growing demand for passports within the community and are working on creating a new schedule for next year, which will include a greater number of appointments and new features such as the option to join a waiting list. The new calendar will be available in December.

In the meantime, we will continue to handle urgent requests through individual appointments, arranged exclusively via email at brisbane.passaporti@esteri.it.

In cases of demonstrated necessity, which will in any case be assessed by the Head of Office, citizens may make use of consular services under an urgent procedure. For such requests, applicants will be required to pay, in addition to the standard service fee, an additional urgent-service charge.

The urgency must be justified by one of the following:

• Serious family or health reasons, certified by competent public or private institutions or authorities attesting to the urgency
• Non-postponable work-related needs, supported by a motivated request signed by a person holding a managerial position (including full name, role, and phone number of the signatory), drafted on the employer’s official letterhead, and accompanied by proof of flight booking or other travel document

Due to a technical issue, biometric data collection for passports in Cairns is temporarily suspended. We are working to restore the service as soon as possible.

For appointment requests already submitted, the Honorary Consul will respond as soon as the service is restored. For new requests, we recommend waiting a few days. For urgent matters, an appointment must be scheduled in Brisbane, as indicated above.
