26th edition of the Studitalia Prize

The Consulate of Italy in Brisbane announced that the 26th edition of the Studitalia Prize was launched on 7 May in Brisbane, an initiative born in 1994 to award the most motivated students of Italian language in Queensland, Australia.

The Award is pledged to Australian students attending Year 12 and provides the students that will be selected by the Organising Committee with the opportunity to undertake immersion experience in Italy, which now includes a period of work experience to enhance their future career opportunities.

“In spite of the current emergency, cultural and education cooperation between Italy, Queensland and Australia does not stop, in line with the renovated promotional strategy endorsed by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs” said Consul Salvatore Napolitano, who participated in the kick off video-conference. The Consul added: “this year too we have received many applications that prove once again Italy’s great appeal in particular to the new generations of Australians, who through Studitalia will become the Ambassadors of the relations between our countries and our communities” .

StuditaliA is based on the collaboration between the Consulate of Italy, Brisbane and the Queensland Department of Education and it is supported by the voluntary contributions of institutions and the associations of the Italian community. The Orgnising Committee is integrated s well by Comites Queensland nd Northern Territory, COASIT Brisbane/ Italian Language Center (ILC), Dante Alighieri Brisbane, Griffith University.

Studitalia 2020-2021 Prize recipients will be announced next July.
