Brisbane, 22 September 2026 – The Italian Ambassador to Australia, Nicola Lener, visited Brisbane as part of a mission aimed at strengthening economic cooperation with Queensland.
Accompanied by Consul Giuseppe Di Murro, the Ambassador took part in a roundtable on rare earths and the energy transition, hosted by the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Queensland and the Northern Territory, together with senior representatives from the Department of Energy and the Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Energy Queensland, and Italian companies operating in the State.
The Ambassador also met with the CEO of the Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC), Kylie Rampa, as part of efforts to promote financial and industrial ties between Italy and Australia.
Finally, the Ambassador met with the Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training, Ros Bates, to discuss new projects to attract Australian investment to Italy and fresh opportunities for Italian companies in Queensland.
