Registration in Italy of the death of an Italian citizen in Australia.
The death of an Italian citizen which occurs abroad must be registered in Italy.
The documents needed to register the death are:
Request for transcription of the death certificate;
Death certificate issued by the “Registry of births, deaths and marriages“;
The deed must be legalized by means of an apostille (issued by the “Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade“)
The deed must be translated into Italian, carried out either using the specific application form in digital format or by an official NAATI translator;
Documentation relating to the citizenship of the deceased: Italian passport or certificate of Italian citizenship.
Deliver the aforementioned documentation to the Consulate General by making an appointment to be made in the online booking system for “consular services” or send it by post;
