{"id":1817,"date":"2023-06-04T12:13:13","date_gmt":"2023-06-04T10:13:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/consbrisbane.esteri.it\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/stato-civile\/"},"modified":"2025-06-23T12:13:42","modified_gmt":"2025-06-23T10:13:42","slug":"stato-civile","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/consbrisbane.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/stato-civile\/","title":{"rendered":"Certificate registration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">ATTENTION!!!<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span class=\"jCAhz\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\"> Following the indications provided by the conversion Law n.74 of 23 May 2025 of the law-decree n.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">36 of 28 March 2025, registrations of birth certificates will be processed according to the procedures indicated at this link: <strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/consbrisbane.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/stato-civile\/birth-registration-of-minors-new-rules\/\">BIRTH REGISTRATION OF MINORS (New Rules) \u2013 Consolato d&#8217;Italia Brisbane<\/a>,<\/strong> which we invite you to read carefully before applying.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Civil Status refers to the sum of acts and events concerning the life of a citizen: birth, marriage, Civil partnerships, death, divorce and citizenship, registration of which falls within the remit of the \u201cUfficiale di Stato Civile\u201d, whose functions are performed in Italy by municipal offices and abroad by consular offices. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/italiani-all-estero\/stato-civile\/\">More information<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>WARNING<\/strong>: <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">if you reside in Queensland or Northern Territory want to update your civil status you must be already registered at the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/consbrisbane.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/aire\/\"><strong>AIRE<\/strong>!<\/a><\/p>\n<p>How to update your civil status:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Fill in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/consbrisbane.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Modulo-richiesta-trascrizione-atti.pdf\"><strong>request form<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Only original documents (birth, marriage, civil partnership, death, divorce).<\/li>\n<li>If the documents are from Australia, please book an appointment at the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dfat.gov.au\/about-us\/our-locations\/australian-offices\/Pages\/queensland-state-office.aspx\">Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT)<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>office for the\u00a0<strong>apostille.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Translate the documents into Italian (only the certificate, not the apostille) contacting a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.naati.com.au\/\"><strong>NAATI translator\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>or by using the available templates on the bottom side of this page &#8211; strictly NOT to be filled in by hand.<\/li>\n<li>You can\u00a0<strong>post the documents to the Consulate<\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/prenotaonline.esteri.it\/login.aspx?cidsede=100082&amp;returnUrl=\/\/\">.<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Please note that we will keep your documents. We will not give them back.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Uploading a\u00a0<strong>child\u2019s birth certificate<\/strong>: if the child\u2019s parents are not married,\u00a0<strong>their names<\/strong>\u00a0should be in the \u201cinformant\u201d section of the child\u2019s birth certificate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Uploading a divorce<\/strong>: you need to apply for an original of your divorce paper to the Family Court accordingly.
