POLITICAL ELECTIONS 2022: RELEASE OF DUPLICATES

We inform you that STARTING FROM SUNDAY 11 SEPTEMBER 2022, voters who have not yet received the electoral envelope for voting for the renewal of the Italian Parliament at their residential address, can request a DUPLICATE from the Consulate of Italy in Brisbane (Level 8 / 199, George Street, Brisbane CBD, 4000).

The request for a duplicate can be presented in person at the consular office or sent by post, by ordinary e-mail to the address: consolato.brisbane@esteri.it  or by certified e-mail to the address: con.brisbane@cert.esteri.it . The request - which can be drawn up using the form available here - must be accompanied by a valid identification document.

Voters who request a duplicate voting envelope must declare that they are aware of the criminal responsibilities resulting from the double vote, provided for by art. 18, paragraph 2, of Law 459/2001, according to which: "Anyone who, on the occasion of the elections of the Chambers and of referendums, votes both by correspondence and in the place of last registration in Italy, or votes several times by correspondence, is punished with imprisonment from one to three years and with a fine from € 52 to € 258".

Once the necessary checks have been carried out, this Consulate will provide the necessary information to the interested parties for the issue of the duplicate. The duplicate can be sent to the residential address of the applicant voter (if there is enough time to receive the envelope) or issued in person, during the opening hours of the consular office: from Mondays to Thursdays from 9am to 4pm and on Fridays from 9am to 1pm.

Please note that this office, exclusively for the issuing of duplicates, will also observe the following extraordinary openings to the public:
SATURDAY 17 SEPTEMBER: from 2pm to 4pm
SUNDAY 18 SEPTEMBER: from 2pm to 4pm

To access the Consulate, located on the eighth floor, at these times, please contact the number +61 (0) 417600441 (the door will be open within three minutes from the call).

Finally, please note that the pre-paid envelopes containing the ballot papers must be sent to this Consulate strictly by 4pm of Thursday 22 September 2022.
