Brisbane. Meeting of the Italian business institutions in the presence of Ambassador Francesca Tardioli

The Brisbane mission of H.E. the Ambassador of Italy to Australia Francesca Tardioli, last October 16, opened the door for the first meeting of the Italian business institutions since the beginning of the pandemic. The meeting was organized by the Consulate of Italy in Brisbane and the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland (ICCI), with the attendance of managers of Italian companies (GHELLA, MAPEI, SAVINO DEL BENE, SEGAFREDO ZANETTI), representatives of local institutions (Trade and Investment Queensland, Brisbane City and the City of the Gold Coast, the two largest council areas in Australia), as well as local researchers, scientists, economists, board members of ICCI Queensland, including the newly formed group of ICCI young professionals of Italian origin.

All the attendants stressed the excellent prospects to further increase relations between Italy and Queensland in the common priorities of innovation, research, environmental sustainability, digitization, that – as Ambassador Tardioli stressed - the Italian Government set as main objectives for growth and recovery economic from the pandemic, in particular by encouraging companies to internationalisation, for example with the Pact for Export.

Ambassador Tardioli outlined the Italian strategy for increasing institutional, commercial, scientific and technological relations with Australia and mentioned Queensland as a model case of effective collaboration between Italian institutional and business players, the Consulate, the Chamber of Commerce, local authorities, the many “spontaneous” resources somehow linked to Italy, government officials, entrepreneurs, researchers, scientists, academics.
